My First Stitch Fix!

Ok, I decided not to continue my PopSugar posts.... it just grew tiresome. However, I MUST post about my box from Stitch Fix! I received a $20 card for Stitch Fix in my October PopSugar box. Stitch Fix is a personal styling service. You sign up and fill out a fairly detailed survey of your height/weight, size and style preferences. You can also include a link to a fashion Pinterest board (which I think is really helpful). There is a $20 styling fee and you schedule when you'd like your fix to be. It can be whenever you want. Monthly or at random dates of your choosing. They then select five pieces of clothing and/or jewelry and send it to you. You try on the items at home and can see what you already have that will work with what they sent you. You have three days to decide what you want to keep and you send the rest back in a prepaid USPS bag. Whatever you decide to keep the $20 is taken off of the amount. If you keep all five pieces you also get 25% off the total. This could be dangerous for me.... I really enjoyed getting my box and seeing what they picked out for me. And they were pretty spot on! Besides what was pinned on my board I made a comment that my favorite styles are along the lines of Kate Middleton, Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon etc. I also mentioned I am not a dress person, though I want to be. But at this time, no. I hate my legs currently! Hopefully soon... anyway... they really listened! Here's what I got ....

Love!

The breakdown of what I got ...

This is the Caramela Benfield Heathered Drape Front Cardigan... I really wanted to love this, but I was just meh about it. I couldn't find much to wear it with. I do think it's cute though and normally is my style. This top is $58.

These are Kensie Malin Bootcut Jeans. I was skeptical about getting jeans in this manner... I have the worst time finding good fitting jeans since I'm hippy. But I tried these on and guess what. They fit like a glove!! I was absolutely shocked. I badly want to keep them. However, I'm doing the Blogilates 12 week workout/meal plan challenge starting December 1. It would stink to spend this much money on the jeans only to lose weight in the next couple of months and they don't fit anymore. So my plan is to request jeans again once I've lost the weight. These cost $98. (way expensive right?! But they really fit so perfectly...... I love them!)

Ok, I LOVE this tank!!! It's so glitzy and glam.... I already have it pictured in my head wearing it to the Lady A concert in February..... but I am going back and forth on buying this one. Sequins make me nervous as far as holding up.... care is hand wash (which if I love it enough I totally will do. It fits wonderfully and is flattering). Anyway, it's Mystree Dollings Sequin Detailed Knit Tank and is $68.

I actually really liked this top as well and wanted to keep it, but it just was little too tight for my liking. Different brands, different fits. It'd probably fit after my challenge, but I'm not buying it and waiting that long. I'll just do another fix. ;-) Anyway, this top was really soft and comfy, but too tight to be flattering on me. It's Tart Danielson Striped Cowl Neck Knit Shirt for $58.

This is their house brand 41Hawthorn Liandra Geo Knit Infinity Scarf. At first I was just ok with this, but then it grew on me. It's so soft... and perfect length... not too terribly bulky... and it's neutral! So I'm keeping this for sure. It's $38.

They send this card with different ways to wear the items. It also includes a little note from the person who styled you.

My stylist was Ashley and she did a GREAT job!! The total for all items if I chose to keep them would be $320. Subtract the $20 styling fee and 25% discount ($75) and it's $225. Which really is a good deal. However, not everything worked out this time. I'm definitely keeping the scarf due to reasons above and I really need a neutral scarf. My question still is the sequin top. So what should I do... keep it or send it back? Please help me out! =)

Overall, I LOVED this service and will definitely be doing it again. It's a bit pricey, but you can tell them what your range is. I may adjust mine and see what happens. I suggest making a fashion Pinterest board if you haven't already. And pin, pin, pin! Also, reference whose style you love. I think both of those things really helped in getting a pretty great match for me. I found Stitch Fix to be super convenient in that it's delivered right to your door and you can try everything on at home. I mean how many times have you tried something on in the store and couldn't think of what was in your closet that it could go with? This way you're right there and can try it on with what you already have! Also I loved having someone else pick clothes out for me. They pick some items that I probably wouldn't have picked up on my own (like the sequin top). My plan for my next fix is to tell them I'm not afraid of color and would love more! And probably no scarves... I have plenty now. haha Interested in trying it out? Sign up here ---> https://www.stitchfix.com/referral/3239935  If you sign up using my referral link I get $25 credit which would be awesome. =)

Let me know if you decide to try them out! I'd love to see what your picks were!
