Nails Inc. Wyndham Collection

Hey y'all! I did my nails. Again! haha I went out yesterday in search of a new purse and Zoya nail polish. I did get my purse but I ended up buying Nails Inc polish instead! Sephora doesn't sell Zoya, but I found this polish which I had noticed before and didn't get for Christmas. So I went ahead and got it. Zoya will have to wait until I can get to Ulta. They may not even have the shade I'm looking for, which is Kelly. (yes, they have shades with real names! And I have a shade! According to their site it's the must have color of the season! Check out www.zoya.com to see what shade you are!) Anyway, back to Nails Inc! They have three different collections for the 'special effects'. The Wyndham Collection, The Old Vic Collection and the Donmar Collection. Each comes with two polishes. A base color and an overglaze top coat. The set is $20. So it's pricey, but really not too bad when you consider it's $10 a bottle and that's still cheaper than butter London. I had never used a Nails Inc product before this and I must say I was highly impressed! I purchased the Wyndham collection which has a base of Teal Black Kensington polish and the Wyndham overglaze top coat. (Donmar comes with Plum Black Chelsea and Donmar overglaze. Old Vic comes with Black Taxi polish and Old Vic overglaze) This polish went on so smooth and so easily! I don't think I've had a polish go on so smoothly! I also thought it seemed to dry faster than most other polishes. All you do with this polish is apply two coats of the base (after first applying a clear base coat of course) and then apply a coat of the overglaze (or enough to how you like it). Then finish of course with a clear top coat. We'll see how long it lasts! It was difficult to get good pictures of them because of their different sparkly look! I saw someone say they look like granite... and I think that's a pretty accurate description! I couldn't think of a good way to describe them but I think that would be it. Here's the pics..... as best as I could get them. haha

In some light the specks look blueish, but most of the time I'd say it's greenish. Either way, I love it!!

Not much else to report on today.... I did purchase some Sigma brushes last night online. (yeah, I had a Treat Yo Self day haha) So I'll update y'all as soon as they get here and I can try them out! I bought The Cities - Paris, which comes with seven brushes and a travel container for them that turns into two cups to hold the brushes in! And they're in a pinkish-red color. I've been seeing a lot of these brushes on my new favorite beauty blog, Makeup by Tiffany D! (there's a link to her blog on the left side) Anyway, so far I definitely recommend Nails Inc! (they also have a magnetic polish that looks interesting..) I'll be back hopefully soon with a review on my Sigma brushes! Til then, glam it up!

A Few Things.....

Hey y'all! A few things today..... I said I would post pics of the train case I got for Christmas once it was out and today I will! I finally got it out and all organized!

This is the pink Sephora train case! Basically it's like those Caboodles you see at Target and Walmart.... but better quality!
Here's everything organized! My next problem will be where to put any new polishes! Hmm... may have to sell some shades I don't use much? Anyway... I'm loving this! I have so much free space in my cabinet now!

I also did a new mani! Same design as Blue Moon, but different colors.
For this I used butter London's The Full Monty (gold) and Ulta brand polish in Fashionista. Like I said before, definitely not perfect! It's something that will take some practice. If you'd like the instructions for this just go to www.thebeautydepartment.com and search for Blue Moon. Very easy really. Just use reinforcement stickers! Soon I think I'll try a traditional French Mani using those stickers.

I also received this beautiful makeup bag for my purse!
I had randomly mentioned that I liked it while shopping at Sephora and was told I didn't need another makeup bag. I agreed and forgot all about it. HUGE surprise to see it in my stocking this morning! It's so beautiful! This picture doesn't do it justice. It's by Charlotte Ronson (who also has an awesome bronzer/shimmer liquid called A Summer's Kiss that I want to get! I was able to try a sample of it... so great! Even on fair skinned gals like me! Honestly it creates more of a glow than a bronze) Anyway, I also love the interior of this bag.. it's a gorgeous shade of blue! Almost like jewel toned. And it's not too expensive at $20 (on sale) Anyway, go check it out and check out Charlotte Ronson's line while you're at it!

Finally, I have to share the new cover I got today for my laptop!

I love it!! I also got Too Faced's Matte Shadow Palette, so I'll review that soon! Maybe in a video? Anyway, hope y'all had a wonderful blessed Christmas!!! And as always, glam it up! =)

Blue Moon

Well ladies.... I changed my nails. Again. lol My plaid Sally Hansen's were chipping, which I can't stand, so I decided to just go ahead and try the Blue Moon design that was on The Beauty Department. (See my previous post for a link to that tutorial) It's no where near perfect... in fact it's a little sloppy in spots. Next time I need to give them more time to dry! That's a key thing... let the first layer dry a lot before you place the stickers! Even if they feel dry, wait longer! lol I do love the idea of using reinforcement stickers to do nails! I got a decent sized pack at Walmart for only a dollar something. Not bad! Ok, here they are!
This is the better hand. My other hand has more errors. haha And I don't even know if you can see the blue that my top coat got on the silver. Not too noticeable though. And ignore the massive paper cut on my thumb that I received from a church connect card. Ouch! Anyway, I think it's kind of fun! It's growing on me! And I'd like to try other color combos. This is the exact same color combo as TBD. I used butter London's Diamond Geezer (metallic silver) and butter London's Royal Navy. What do y'all think??

Short post today........ I still plan on doing another video, however I've had a cold the past week! So hopefully once this thing has run it's course I'll be back on with another video! Let me know if you try this design and what you think of it! Glam it up! =)

Salon Effects Part 4: Plaid About You

As many of you know I'm sure, I can't seem to stay with one thing for long on my nails. I'm always excited to try something new! So I left my Snow Bunny on for maybe a week and a half... last night I applied Plaid About You... ok IT'S my new favorite! haha I love dark polish on my nails. It always looks good, in my opinion. One thing I did notice about this one... it seemed to tear easily so you can see some spots on my nails where the polish is off... but it isn't enough to make me dislike this polish! I love this one!!

I still have two new ones to try after this... and I still need to try water marbling. And this:
For the larger size go to http://thebeautydepartment.com/2011/09/blue-moon/ I'm super excited to try this one!!! I just need to find some of those ring things. Have you tried this look? Share with me your experience! Speaking of that website... you MUST go check it out if you haven't yet. It's www.thebeautydepartment.com It's partially run by Lauren Conrad, and as everyone knows, she is AMAZING when it comes to fashion, trends and makeup! Check it out!

Something else I'm super excited about: I already know one of my Christmas gifts. A Sephora train case! In pink! Technically it's for makeup. But I'm planning on using it for my polish! I have so many now that I'm out of room in my cabinet for them all. I'll be sure to take a pic when it's here and ready to go!

I'll probably do another video here soon. I got some good responses to the first one. Anything you want me to talk about? Let me know! In the meantime, glam it up!

Pencil Vs Liquid Liners

Ok ladies, here it is. A video! Yikes. I did not upload this to YouTube. People are just too mean and ruthless there. So I'm keeping it to this blog where the only comments I allow are nice ones! lol I kept this video short and sweet... it's only on the liners. Also, one of my cats, Jackson, makes a cameo! haha Anyway, hope y'all like it!

Salon Effects Part 3: Snow Bunny

Well ladies, I'm sure you could've guessed.... I got bored with Peppermint Twist and decided to put on Snow Bunny! I think this is one I'll be leaving on for awhile! So far it's my favorite! And it's been the easiest to apply as well! So this one I highly recommend!!

I don't have much to post on today.... have you all been entering Philosophy's Baking Spirits Bright every day?! Another thing to remember to enter everyday is Ellen's 12 Days of Giveaways! Anyway, like I said, I don't have much to post on! Just wanted to let you all see how awesome Snow Bunny is! I may have to get my friend Denae to guest blog as she bought some butter London prints! We'll see what I can do. ;-) Anything you lovely ladies want to know about? Send them this way! I think I'll be doing a video soon... gotta make sure I'm lookin' as good as possible for y'all! Til next time, glam it up!

Some Things....

Hey glamour gals! Sorry it's been a few days! Not much to post on today... I'm giving my nails a few days with the Peppermint Twist before I move on to Snow Bunny. I have gotten several compliments on Peppermint Twist! So, I recommend trying it! Also, if you haven't seen my numerous posts on it on Facebook and Twitter, I was at Target yesterday and they had their holiday prints on sale for $7! They're usually $8.50, so that's a great price! I'm not sure how long the sale lasts... I didn't look. But last I checked, on sale! Also, I bought some of their new prints at Walmart! They were out of some that I wanted!! (Love Letter and the pink zebra stripes) However, I did get:

Sweet Tart-an and Queen of the Jungle! I think I'll like this argyle better since it's pink and purple! My colors! Black and gray/silver are just too boring for me. I need color!

So I've talked about makeup that I put ON, but what about taking it OFF? Recently I started using an awesome product that doesn't even require water! So simple!! It's Say Yes to Cucumbers!
They have other Yes To products based on what you want to do... I've only used cucumbers so far. But my favorite product is their facial cleansing wipes!
What I love about it... it works great (and without water!) and it smells good! Also I love the little sticker inside that says Wipe that smile ON your face!... so fun to see every day! Great product and not too expensive. I get mine at Ulta! I also have the Calming Facial Mask...
It's a little more expensive so I don't use it every day. But it does make your skin super soft! So, a couple of things I definitely recommend. However if you're only going to try one, make it the wipes! Try it, I know you'll love it!

Finally, I had a suggestion to do maybe videos.... what do you all think? Yay? Nay? I've never done them before so I have no idea really where to begin! But I'm willing to give it a go if y'all want 'em! Give me your feedback ladies!
